When I was 15, I watched my grandmother slowly fade away. We couldn't afford to get her help. The hospital would do nothing. On the day she took her final breath, I vowed to be that person who would be there for that someone who needed it, but couldn't get the help they needed. I will not watch someone die alone ever again. Not if I can be there.
